Governor Hickenlooper Signs Cybersecurity Legislation

Earlier today, Governor Hickenlooper signed into law HB 1453, the Colorado Cybersecurity Initiative. The Colorado Technology Association applauds the bipartisan effort to ensure this important legislation was signed into law. CTA has supported HB 1453 from its inception and thanks the bill's sponsors Representative Millie Hamner and Senator Kent Lambert for their leadership on this issue.

Governor Hickenlooper Signs Cybersecurity Legislation

Earlier today, Governor Hickenlooper signed into law HB 1453, the Colorado Cybersecurity Initiative. The Colorado Technology Association applauds the bipartisan effort to ensure this important legislation was signed into law. CTA has supported HB 1453 from its inception and thanks the bill's sponsors Representative Millie Hamner and Senator Kent Lambert for their leadership on this issue.
 

More on the Colorado Cybersecurity Initiative 

HB 1453 creates the Colorado Cybersecurity Council to develop cybersecurity policy guidance for the governor; develop comprehensive goals, requirements, initiatives and milestones; and coordinate with the General Assembly and the Judicial Department regarding cybersecurity.
 
The legislation also allows for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to establish and expand higher-education programs in cybersecurity, and appropriates $7,932,020 to be used by UCCS to renovate space for the National Cybersecurity Intelligence Center.
